Ages

Cubby House caters for children from 12 months old up to and including children in Grade R. Our Grade R program meets the GDE requirements and our children leave us with all the skills necessary to cope with and excel in Grade 1 in both the Government and Private school sectors.

 

Terms

Our school follows 4 terms that are similar to government school terms within a day or two.

 

Holiday Club

This is run each holiday by university students Lauren & Mishau. Holidays Club dates and times to be advised

 

Holiday care available

R50 per day for Cubby Kids

R150 per day Visiters

 

School Times

Please drive into the school property for the safety of you and your child. Please do not leave your child at the gate or unsupervised in the parking area.

You may drop your child at school from 07h00 and the official school program starts at 08h30. Children may be collected at 13h00 for half day.

The Aftercare program runs from 13h00 to 17h30. (18h00 at the latest) Please do not be late to collect your child and please inform the school if there is an unavoidable delay. Parents who are consistently late to fetch their child will be charged a late collection fee.

 

 

Fees

Fees are R2200 per month half day (1pm) & R2800 per month (full day) for 11 months of the year.

Aftercare pro-rata fee is R50 per day.

R500 registration fee is required to confirm your child’s place.

10% discount applies to the sibling of a child both attending school simultaneously.

One term or three calendar months notice is required when leaving the school & parents are responsible for full payment of fees for the entire period.

 

 

Food

Water is available at all times & children are encouraged to drink regularly to stay hydrated.

Healthy, cooked lunch menu is displayed weekly.

Children cut fruit & make their own sandwiches for mid morning & mid afternoon snacks

Children may bring cereal or yoghurt for breakfast if they arrive before 8am

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Security

We have a camera at the gate linked to the school and no access to school premises is allowed until identification can be made.

Teachers have panic buttons linked to an armed response company

The school is completely walled and has an electric fence

Your child will not be allowed to leave school with anyone not listed on your application form.

 

 

Illness

Please do not send your child to school when they are not well. They cannot get the best out of their day and germs spread quickly to other children.

Please contact us if your child will not be coming to school.

Our staff is trained in First Aid & minor injuries will be addressed at school.

 

 

Extra Murals

A group of children are taken to Aqua Zone just up the road from the school for swimming lessons. This is optional and at an additional cost. Our other extra-murals are in -house & include a ball skills and a gross motor programme. There is no charge for these activities.

 

Reports & Parents meetings

Written reports are provided at the end of the year.

Verbal reports are provided at the end of the 2nd term where parents are invited to discuss their child's progress.

We have an open door policy & parents may speak to the teachers with any concerns. Please make an appointment to do this however, in order to maintain confidentiality & also not to discuss issues in front of your child.

 

 

Masterchef

Each week one child has a turn to be a chef. Goodies are made at school on Thursday and sold on Fridays. This is a very special treat & our Masterchef feels very important.

Your child will be able to sell these to their friends for R2. 

 

 

Special events

Birthdays are times to celebrate with your child. You may bring cake & attend the birthday ring. Please bring a photo of your child to represent each year of life.

The Christmas concert & graduation are events where everyone in the family can be involved and come and watch the activities

Picnics, puppet shows & pyjama parties are regular events though out the year.

Sometimes special visitors are invited to come to the school to enrich our learning experiences.

Dress Code

Please dress your children in practical clothing. Shoes should be easy to put on and remove so that your child can be independent. Please don't allow plastic "Barbie" hIgh heels.

Children must wear a hat daily.

Please send nappies & wet wipes should your child need them.

Please send a change of clothes in a small school bag with your child
